Delicious, Healthy, Post Yoga Vanilla Smoothie Recipe

I need to take a pic of this, I made it this morning, it is a lovely pale green color!  Here goes-for newbies, my recipes are general, but they work!  I like to give leeway for your tastes and your imagination.  So in this case, adjust amount of yogurt/kefir to water depending on how thick you want it.  Optional: As sweetener, maple syrup would be nice in this as well.  Feel free to add any powder superfoods like maca powder.  This wasn’t meant to be a super foods/meal replacement-but a wonderful healthy drink-better than soda by far!

FLAVOR:  A smooth refreshing vanilla, taste.

1/4  ripe avocado

1/2 c. or bit more,  plain yogurt or kefir

1/2 c. water

1 medjool date (opt.)

1/2 T. coconut oil (or less)

1 tsp. honey, or natural sweetener

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract or to taste

1 Tblsp. ground oatmeal (to a powder, I do this in a coffee bean grinder)

cinnamon (dash)

If you have a high speed blender like a Vitamix or Blendtec then all ingredients can go in easily at once, and be careful of over-blending in that case.   But if not or using a hand blender (that is how I made this,) then:

First warm enough of the water to soak and  plump up the date (only needed if it’s a bit dry) wait 10 min.   Then blend date into water, till it’s dissolved, then add oatmeal and blend.  Then blend all rest into this mixture, till smooth! Taste and adjust sweetness.

The oats gives some nice fiber for cleansing and thickens it, the oil and avocado had a nice creaminess.
