It’s Springtime, Time for a Cleanse of Body, Mind & Spirit #1
Cleanse for the SPIRIT:
Here is a beautiful, upbeat song to lift your spirits if feeling a little groggy in the morn or a little blue anytime.
Regular readers know I’m groovin’ on Kundalini Yoga for the last year, after starting with Kripalu and getting certified to teach, then Ashtanga to vinyasa and now KY. It’s awesome. This song is used on KY tradition, it also comes with a longer mantra but this version is simple and uplifting. So check out Aykanna’s soulful vocals below and purchase if you love it.
This is a wonderful time to do a cleanse-springtime in Chinese medicine is the key time to clear the liver and detox the whole body.
IF you have been down or minor illnesses it’s often the body’s way of saying you are overloaded. This awareness used to be part of Western medicine-and frankly still is all traditional medical systems. The body and mind are completely integrated in Chinese Medicine-meaning-yes if liver is overloaded and not functioning optimally, that can cause feelings of anger and irritation/frustration. If more extreme and longstanding it may show as depression. So working iwth your body can have an impact on your mind and feelings. The basic idea is if the body is clogged that is referred to as “stagnation,” that reflects mental emotional stagnation too. It’s a beautiful circle of interdependence.
So I’m doing a cleanse-modified, lots more fresh green juices, and my main (simple meal) at noon-ish. If hungry more juice or a big raw salad with cool fun things. Don’t think iceberg-how BORING!
So here is the sweet, a bit corny (but inspirational) song: to get movin’ in the morn. Then have your green juice. See my raw salad recipe here and related articles below. I’ll be giving simple tips for SPRING CLEANSING for the next few weeks so check back or better yet subscribe to blog updates via email (see sidebar.)
Namaste, and be well. Kala
