New Years Retreat Talk…Alchemy of Release

Eugene Cash is a wonderful down to earth Buddhist teacher, with a city vibe (dont’ let the dorky photo of him at the link turn you off.)  I have taken a meditation retreat with him, he is based in California and is a psychotherapist I believe as well as a Buddhist teacher. So listen to this if you have some time, and want to chill out. We often try to relax with TV, and the sounds and sights can actually be depleting, kind of like a zombie effect! That is not just my observation but is said in Ayurvedic medicine the more jarring, loud, fast moving the stimulus the more depleting. So as I realized that happened for me, I began to think about my other senses that are not as overused-such as hearing….When I am tired I usually shift my awareness to calming music or to listening to an informative Dharma talk. So sit back quietly, take a few deep breaths and just listen. Om shanti.
