Lazy Delicious Raw Vegan Brownie (warm too,) less than 10 Minutes!

Honestly I just wanted to share this awesome picture I just took of my healthy brownies. So so simple scary because then it’s easy to give in to a brownie craving! Ok this recipe is all over internet-BUT i added 2 simple innovations, not to recipe but to method. One, everybody says chill for like an hour or more, but the idea of chill or wait and chocolate don’t go together-plus cold is not fun unless it boiling hot out.  Ayurvedic* teachings say, it’s harder to digest cold foods especially if one is a vata type like me, and since this is pretty nutrient dense (nuts) that’s even more the case-digestion is supported by it not being cold.  So mine is made warm quickly without the use of dehydrator to make it warm.  Also I mix batter by hand, no food processor, which saves a messy cleanup.  If you want to use food processor you could just add nuts process briefly add cacoa powder process just mix, and finally dates till it’s a crumbly dough texture.  Press into a pan and chill.  That’s the usual way.  Here follows my easy way!
These are proportions:

1 Cup Walnuts/Pecans
1 Cup Dates
1/4 cup raw cacao powder
Add like 1 or 2 Tbsp water to saucepan heat up to boil-then shut off heat. Add dates to covered pot, after removing seeds, let sit and soften 3 min or so.  Drain.  If you are a strict raw person then keep water temp below your threshold-which varies, my friend & fellow blogger-healthy lifestyle/foodie expert Bridget Krutzik, says it’s “raw” up till you can comfortably dip fingers into liquid.  I did use a coffee bean grinder (one because it’s better than my blender/fd processor which is cheap, not powerful. So I ground the nuts to powder.
Combine all in pan that will keep brownies in-so with hands-
Mix warm dates, nut powder and raw cacoa powder. Mix till consistency is that of a brownie!  YUM, as it will be still warm and moist brownie. I then added more chopped nuts for texture contrast, dust with cacao powder or cacao nibs or one could whip up a raw frosting with like avocado and more cacao but that’s completely unnecessary.  You now have in less than 10 min warm, nuts and date based totally nutritious (especially compared to any conventional brownie) dessert/snack.
I need to mention here thanks and lots of love to my friend Bridget who turned me on to raw desserts, and she gave me Ani Pho’s [amazon_link id=”0738213063″ target=”_blank” ]Raw Dessert book[/amazon_link], Ani is now my Goddess!  See more of her books below-buy and help me earn a few cents! Namaste.
What’s great is you get all this nutrition in a dessert and your main meal perhaps is conventional, but you can sneak in raw desserts which will make anyone happy-that’s how I started adding more living foods into my diet and I feel really great.  As always listen to your body it’s not a race to the end to be %100 raw, (as some would have you believe) your body may just love having %20 more fruits and veggies and nuts (that’s raw) rather than becoming stringent.  The vast majority of Americans’ diet could use more fresh greens, fruits and nuts to replace the quantities of denatured, toxic, clogging “food.”  I worry about obesity, the increase in high blood pressure and especially diabetes in so many segments of our culture.  So spread the good word!
